AI search readiness
AI assistants answer questions using content they can read and parse. Find out whether yours qualifies.
What we check
Structured data about your business
Whether there is a machine-readable statement of who you are — name, what you do, where, how to contact you — rather than leaving it to be inferred from prose.
Content that exists without JavaScript
Many AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. If your text is rendered in the browser, those systems see an almost empty page and there is nothing to quote.
Clear document structure
Headings are how a machine splits a page into topics. A wall of undifferentiated text is far harder to extract a correct, specific answer from.
Question-shaped content
Assistants answer questions, and draw most readily from content already written as a question followed by a direct answer.
AI crawler access
Whether robots.txt blocks GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot or Google-Extended. Blocking them is a legitimate choice — but it should be a choice, not an accident.
A concise description
The one-line summary most systems reach for when they need to say what your site is.
What this measures, and what it cannot
A growing share of questions that once went to a search box now go to an assistant, and the answer is assembled from sources the assistant could read and trust. If your pages are hard to parse, you are not part of that answer.
This category measures readiness: whether your content is structured, crawlable, factually explicit and organised so a machine can extract a correct answer from it. Those are the parts you control.
It does not predict or guarantee placement in ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews or anything else. Nobody outside those companies can, and any tool claiming otherwise is selling you certainty it does not have. What we can tell you is whether the technical groundwork is in place.
Questions
What is AI search readiness?
How well your website is structured for AI assistants to read, understand and accurately quote. It covers structured data, server-rendered content, heading structure, crawler access and whether your content answers questions directly.
Can you guarantee my site appears in ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?
No. No tool can, and we will not claim otherwise. What we can do is check whether the signals you control are in place, because a page an assistant cannot parse definitely will not be cited.
Should I block AI crawlers?
That is a business decision, not a technical one. Publishers who monetise their own traffic often block them; businesses who want to be described accurately usually do not. We report what your robots.txt currently does so the setting is deliberate.
Is this different from normal SEO?
It overlaps but is not identical. Both reward crawlability and structure. AI readiness puts more weight on explicit machine-readable facts, on content existing without JavaScript, and on writing that answers a question directly rather than building to a point.
